Your access to and use of our Services is governed by the Stellar Terms and Conditions.

Stellar Reviews, Inc. (“Company” or “Stellar”) is committed to protecting your privacy.  This Privacy Policy describes our privacy practices for the following websites: stellarreviews.com, stellarreviewers.com, stellarfeedback.com (the “Sites”), and the Stellar Product Panel services and any other site, service or app where the Policy is provided (collectively with the Sites, the “Services”).  For questions about our privacy practices, please contact us at privacy@stellarreviews.com.

Users Outside of the United States: You understand that your Personal Data may be processed in the country in which it was collected and in other countries, including the United States, where laws regarding processing of Personal Data may be less stringent than the laws in your country.  For the purposes of EU data protection law, Stellar Reviews, Inc. is your data controller.

1. THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We obtain a variety of information from and about you as you use the Services.  We need certain types of information to provide certain Services to you. If you do not provide us with certain information, or ask us to delete it, you may no longer be able to access or use our Services.  

Information You Provide to Us

We collect information directly from you through your use of our Services, such as through your:

• account registration and administering your account;

• responses to our surveys;

• communications and dealings with us; and

• interactions with the Services on your devices

 We collect any information that you choose to provide to us, which generally includes:

Contact and Registration Information: including your name, email address, login information (password and username or email), mailing address, company name, and any other information you may provide during the account creation process, such as a gender, phone number, or birth date. 

Survey Content:

We collect your answers to our survey questions (“Survey Content”) to verify and update certain Contact and Registration Information and to determine your eligibility to review products,  participate in panels, and to provide to market research to our clients  

Survey Content may include your or your family members’ interests and hobbies, buying habits, family members and their ages, city, clothing sizes, demographic information, and education. 

Review Content: We collect any information or content you provide in connection with your product reviews and ratings or the opinions you provide during focus groups or panels, including, but not limited to, suggestions, photos, and videos (“Review Content”). Review Content may be made publicly viewable as described in this Policy. 

Inquiries and Feedback: We collect comments and questions you submit through customer service interactions with us or surveys. 

Information We Collect Through Automated Means

When you use our Services, we collect certain information automatically as described in this section. We and our service providers (which are third-party companies that work on our behalf) may use a variety of technologies, including cookies and similar tools, to assist in collecting this information. This includes: 

Device Information and related information: such as your browser type, operating system, IP address, Internet service provider (“ISP”), device IDs and characteristics, and platform type

Usage Information: such as referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, the state or country from which you accessed the Services, pages viewed and the order of those pages, the amount of time spent on particular pages, error logs, language preferences, and other similar information.

Location Information: When you use the Services, we and our service providers collect general location information from your computer or mobile device. “General” location information means information about the city and state in which your device is located based on its IP address.  This information (along with the contact information you provide directly) allows us to determine appropriate panels based on your general location and to secure the Services. 

Information We Collect from Social Media Platforms

If you “like” or “follow” us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or other social media sites, or include us or our partners in mentions or hashtags, we may collect some information from you including your name, e-mail address, and any comments or content you post relevant to us. We also collect your information if you sign up for one of our promotions or submit information to us through social media sites.

Information We Collect from Others

We may receive information about you from a partner, such as your email address and/or products you have purchased, to invite you to participate in a panel or to otherwise provide the Services.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We and our service providers use the information described above in order to:

• Administer your account and verify your information; 

• Provide, manage, and improve the Services, including shipping products to you;

• Provide you with updates and information about the Services;

• Respond to your requests for information;

• Conduct internal business operations in support of our Services, such as auditing, security, resolving crashes, preventing fraud, marketing, analytics, and research and development;

• Contact you regarding products, services, surveys, promotions, special events, and other subjects that we think may be of interest to you;

• Comply with laws, regulations, and other legal process and procedures;

• Establish, exercise, or defend our legal rights; and

• Take steps that we reasonably believe to be necessary to protect the safety, security, and rights of Stellar, its employees, service providers, and others.

We may combine the information we collect through the Services with information that we collect automatically or receive from other sources and use such combined information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We may also aggregate, de-identify, and/or anonymize any information collected through the Services in such a way that we cannot reasonably link information to you or your device. We may use such aggregate, de-identified, or anonymous information for any purpose.

3. HOW WE SHARE AND DISCLOSE YOUR INFORMATION

We and our service providers will share the information we collect from and about you as follows:

Service Providers:  We may provide access to or share your information with select third parties who perform services on our behalf, such as fulfillment and delivery, analytics, research, customer service, delivery, data storage, security, fraud prevention, and legal services.

Affiliates.  We may share some or all of your data with any parent company, subsidiaries, joint ventures, or other companies under a common control (“Affiliates”), in which case we will require our Affiliates to honor this Privacy Policy.  

Stellar Clients. When you review a product or provide your opinions as part of market research on behalf of a Stellar client (“Client”), we may share certain of your information with the Client, such as your address for shipping and your review and/or opinion. Our Clients are instructed not to  contact you directly unless we obtain permission from you.

Public Posting of Review Content.  Your Review Content may be publicly posted in one more locations, including on a product or service brand website, retailer website, on social media networks, or on the Services.

Legal Compliance and Protection of Stellar & Others.  Regardless of any choices you make regarding your information (as described below), we may disclose your information if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary (a) in connection with any legal investigation; (b) to comply with relevant laws or to respond to subpoenas or warrants; (c) to protect or defend the rights or property of Steller,  its users or any person; and/or (d) to investigate or assist in preventing any violation or potential violation of: the law, this Privacy Policy, or Terms of Use and preventing review fraud.

Business Transfers:  We may buy, merge, partner with or transfer assets to other companies. In such transactions (including in contemplation of such transactions), your information may be shared or  among the transferred assets. 

Your Consent:  We will share your information consistent with your consent.

Third Party Partners to Provide Co-Branded or Jointly Offered Products and Services. From time to time, we may partner with another brand, retailer, or other third party to offer services, products, events and promotions on a co-branded or cross-promotional basis. The information you provide in connection with such Services may be collected directly by, or shared with the third party and any participating sponsors or advertisers of such Services. These third parties will use your information in accordance with their own privacy policy.

We may share or disclose such aggregate or anonymous information with any third party, including advertisers, promotional partners, and sponsors.

4. COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

To collect the information in the “Information We Collect Through Automated Means” section above, we and our service providers use web server logs, cookies, tags, tracking pixels, and other similar tracking technologies (“Cookies”).  

A web server log is a file where website activity is stored.

A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website, and it enables us to: (i) recognize your computer; (ii) store your preferences and settings; (iii) understand the web pages of the Services you have visited; (iv) enhance your user experience by delivering and measuring the effectiveness of content and advertising tailored to your interests; (v) perform searches and analytics; and (vi) assist with security and administrative functions.

Tracking pixels (sometimes referred to as web beacons or clear GIFs) are tiny electronic tags with a unique identifier embedded in websites, online ads, and/or email that are designed to: (i) collect usage information like ad impressions or clicks and email open rates; (ii) measure popularity of the Services and associated advertising; and (iii) access user cookies.

Cookies are typically classified as either “session cookies,” which do not stay on your device after you close your browser or “persistent cookies,” which will usually remain on your device until you delete them or they expire. Sometimes cookies are placed by us (“First-Party Cookies”) and sometimes they are placed by others (“Third-Party Cookies”). Different cookies are used to perform different functions on our Services:

Essential Cookies: Some cookies are essential to the Services and enable you to use the features of the Services and access secure areas of the Services. Without these cookies, we cannot enable appropriate content based on the type of device you are using (for example, essential cookies store user log-in information so that you don’t have to re-enter it for each page you visit on our website).

Functional Cookies: These cookies allow us to remember choices you make on our Services (such as your preferred language or the region you are in).

Personalization Cookies: We also use cookies to change the way our Services behave or look in order to personalize your experience from information we infer from your behavior on our Services or information we may already know about you because, for example, you are a registered user. These cookies may be used to tailor the Services or the content, look, and feel delivered to you on subsequent sessions to our Services.

Analytics Cookies: We use our own cookies and/or third-party cookies to see how you use our Services in order to enhance their performance and develop them according to the preferences of our customers and visitors. For example, cookies may be used to: maintain a consistent look and feel across our Services, analyze how our users interact with our Services, track errors, and measure the effectiveness of our content.

 5. ONLINE ANALYTICS 

Analytics

We or our partners may use third-party web analytics services (such as those of Google Analytics) on our Services to collect and analyze usage information through cookies and similar tools; engage in auditing, research, or reporting; assist with fraud prevention; and provide certain features to you. Notice Concerning Do Not Track

Do Not Track (“DNT”) is a privacy preference that users can set in certain web browsers. We are committed to providing you with meaningful choices about the information collected on our website for third-party purposes, which is why we describe a variety of opt-out mechanisms above. 6. RETENTION OF YOUR INFORMATION

We keep your information for no longer than necessary for the purposes for which it is processed. The length of time for which we retain information depends on the purposes for which we collected and use it and/or as required to comply with applicable laws.

7. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND FEATURES

We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party websites (e.g., a Client site) or plug-ins (e.g., Facebook) linked in the Services. Their privacy policies, and not this Policy, govern their information practices.  

8. YOUR RIGHTS & CHOICES REGARDING YOUR INFORMATION

Commercial Communications

You may instruct us not to use your contact information to contact you regarding ith promotional information by contacting us using the information below.  For emails, you can also opt-out by following the unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of commercial emails. Regardless of your request, we may still use and share certain information as permitted by this Privacy Policy or as required by applicable law. For example, you may not opt-out of certain operational emails, such as those reflecting our relationship or transactions with you.

Privacy Rights

Your local laws may permit you to exercise certain rights with respect to the information we collect from and about you.  These rights vary depending upon your location, and that we may request you provide us with information to confirm your identity. Certain information may be exempt from such requests under applicable law such as .information we need to provide the Services to you or to comply with law. In some circumstances, if you still ask us to delete your information, you may no longer be able to access or use our Services.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may request:

• access to and/or a copy of certain information we hold about you

• deletion of certain information that we are holding about you

• prevention of the processing of your information for direct-marketing purposes (including any direct marketing processing based on profiling)

• an update to your information

• restrict the way that we process and disclose certain of your information

• transfer your information to a third-party provider of services

• withdrawal of your consent for the processing of your information

9. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR EUROPEAN UNION ECONOMIC AREA RESIDENTS

Legal Bases for Use of Your Information

Some countries require that companies only process your “Personal Data” (as that term is defined in applicable law like the EU General Data Protection Regulation) if they have a “legal basis” (or justifiable need). To the extent those laws apply, our legal bases for processing Personal Data are:

Contract: Where your Personal Data is necessary to perform our obligations pursuant to a contract (or pending contract) with you. For example, we will process your Personal Data to comply with our Terms of Service and to honor our commitments in any contracts that we have with you.

Legitimate Interests: Where your Personal Data is necessary for our legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of others. For example, we will process your Personal Data to operate our business and our Services, including to: identify and fix any issues, perform internal analytics; improve the Services and users’ experiences, provide you with information about new products, offers or other information that may be of interest,; comply with legal requirements, defend our legal rights, prevent fraud and secure the Services.

Data Transfers

Please note that, in providing Services to you, we may subcontract the processing of your data to, or otherwise share your data with, affiliates and subsidiaries, trusted service providers, and trusted business partners in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States, in accordance with applicable law. By providing us with your information, you acknowledge any such transfer, storage, or use.

10. HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION

We are committed to protecting the security of your information. We use a variety of industry-standard security technologies and procedures to help protect your data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while Company uses appropriate efforts to protect your information, Company cannot guarantee its absolute security. 

11. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Services.  If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from children without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.

13. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make any material changes in the way we use your Personal Data, we will notify you by prominently posting notice of the changes on our Services or as otherwise required by law. Any material changes to this Privacy Policy will be effective thirty (30) calendar days following our posting of notice of the changes on our Services. These changes will be effective immediately for new users of our Services. If you do not wish to permit changes in our use of your Personal Data, you must stop using the Services. Continued use of our Services, following notice of such material changes shall indicate your acknowledgement of such changes and agreement to be bound by the terms and conditions of such changes.
